In late February and March, the Sandhill Cranes come to Monte Vista, CO to rest and feed before their final flight to Montana. The moon was high in the sky while I watched and photographed these graceful birds flying from one field to the next to feed and do their ritual mating dances. They are symbolic of both good fortune and peace in the Japanese culture. I felt both blessings that day!
