In July, I was sitting in a wildflower meadow filled with Broad-tailed Hummingbirds feeding from their favorite flower, the Scarlet Gilia. I could hear them buzzing from flower to flower, when one started feeding nearby. I was able to capture this photo, when all of a sudden he zipped upwards, hovered in midair and stared straight at me. What a joyful and amazing experience!
